Industrial plastics, from high-volume packaging film to precision-engineered resin parts, represent both a cost and an opportunity for manufacturers. Without a structured recovery program, valuable polymers end up in landfill, hauling costs rise, and recycled-content goals stay out of reach.
Shapiro designs plastics recovery programs that work inside your production flow.
We handle identification, segregation, equipment, and routing to the right processor for each resin type. As your sustainable solutions partner, we document every pound in your Sustainability Dashboard, our proprietary reporting platform.
The result: reduced landfill costs, measurable sustainability gains, and a clear financial return.

PLASTICS RECOVERY
We support you from adopting new technology to deliver better results to crafting a culture based on sustainable practices that help materials management.
What We Handle
Post-Industrial Plastics
Learn MoreWe process a wide range of post-industrial plastics, including:
Rigid Plastics: HDPE, PP, PET, ABS, PC, and nylon from molded parts, purge, and sprues.
Film & Flexible Packaging: LDPE shrink wrap, stretch film, and bagging material.
Mixed Plastics: Sorted or commingled streams, with downstream partners equipped for separation.
Specialty Polymers: Engineering-grade plastics from aerospace, automotive, and electronics manufacturing.
How Our Sustainable Programs Work
Learn More1. Stream Identification & Resin Mapping
We begin with a site evaluation to identify all plastic streams, from offcuts to packaging film, and analyze contamination risks. Each resin type is mapped to the right recovery method and end market.
2. On-Site Segregation & Containment
We provide the right collection systems for your facility: wheeled bins, balers, or compactors. Our training ensures materials are kept clean and free from contaminants that can lower value.
3. Equipment Integration
We lease or sell balers, grinders, or shredders for high-volume sites, often offsetting costs through recovered material value. This densifies material, reduces pickups, and improves load efficiency.
4. Optimized Routing
Using our agnostic partner network, we route each resin type to the best-suited processor for that material. For example, HDPE and PP might go to one facility, while mixed rigid plastics may be directed to another for the best sustainable and value-creating option.
5. Reporting & Verification
All weights, grades, and destinations are captured in ScrapView. You’ll have verifiable recycled-content data for ESG reports, customer audits, and internal performance tracking.
