When alloyed with other elements like copper, zinc, magnesium, silicon, manganese and lithium, mechanical properties like strength, durability and corrosion resistance are created.

For example, Shapiro buys 6061 and 6063 grade aluminum from window manufacturers and 7000 series, particularly, 7075, the aluminum with the highest strength that is used by the aerospace industry and to manufacture structural components. Our trailer manufacturing clients use 5000 series aluminum to build their trailers.
